It is no secret that Covid-19 has had a huge impact on businesses in the last year. Non-profits especially have had to get creative with how to conduct business safely and effectively during these troubled times. ACTS has been no different.
After an attempt at a masked, but successful show in late August we felt we could reach more people by offering patrons the chance to watch a play in the comfort, and safety, of their home. Live streaming Mrs. California brought on all new challenges for the crew, but they easily overcame each one to put on a fantastic show. Something we got to do during this show that we wouldn't get to do in-person is that we were able to play real commercials from the 1950's during intermission. Due to the overwhelmingly positive response of that feature it may be something we explore on how to integrate in in-person performances in the future.
While we do not plan to make our next play, Savannah Sipping Society, a live stream event we are reassured in knowing that we have a new skill set and possibility at our hands if we ever get into a pinch again. Live streaming had allowed ACTS to stay relevant and risk-free during the pandemic and we know now that we can combat any issues that come our way.
