Dennis McGill
Dennis McGill is excited to be on stage for his first role as the firefighter! He has worked on many shows behind the scenes including Mama Won’t Fly and A Slice of the Blarney. Dennis is a Sgt. with IDOC and lives in Seymour with his wife, Elyse.
Derek Maxie
Derrick Maxie is from Crothersville, IN and will be playing the role of Plane Guy. This is his second time to be in a show for ACTS. His previous role was Mark from Love/Sick. He used to be involved with school plays and volunteered as a theatre usher at IUS. He enjoys watching movies, bowling, gardening, and spending time with his friends and family. He started to have a passion for theatre when he was younger and is happy to build his passion with ACTS. He wants to thank everyone who worked very hard to put this show together and for those who came to support ACTS.
Michael DeShong
Michael DeShong is from Seymour, IN, and will be playing the role of Jed. This will be his first role with ACTS and will be his first role since High School in 2000 where he attended Jennings County High School. He is married and has 4 children, all teenagers. He enjoys movies, nature, and spending time with his family. He is enrolled at IUPUC in the nursing program pursuing his Bachelor's Degree and is currently employed at Jennings County EMS as a Paramedic, which is why this show has such a personal impact on Michael. He is thrilled to be a part of such a wonderful group and looks forward to performing with them for many years to come.
Steve Deweese
Steve DeWeese will be playing the role of Steven.
Steve is the father of three teenage daughters & one 2 year old Yorkie, all of whom have attitude problems. Steve started acting as a child during programs at Cortland Christian Church. He is also a singer/songwriter who can be heard most weekends locally as a solo artist or fronting the legendary local cover band, "Bad Medicine". Steve is also a successful theater director having directed the ACTS production of "The Foriegner" & "Assistant directed the JCCT productions of "Charlotte's Web" & "The Princess Who Had No Name". His greatest joys in life are his children and he is thrilled to be sharing the stage in this play for the 1st time with his youngest daughter Jane who plays the babysitter.
Tim Gordon
Tim Gordon will be playing the role of Tony.
Tim returns to the stage after almost throwing out his back helping to assemble it. Those walls are heavy! Tim has been with ACTS for years doing everything from taking tickets, tech, construction and of course acting. Some of his favorite roles include Stanley Gardner in both "Run For Your Wife" and "Caught In The Net!", Charlie Baker in "The Foreigner", Ben in "Kosher Lutherans" and Dudley in "Mrs. California". When not at the theatre or work, he enjoys playing videos games and spending time with his girlfriend and her insane yet lovable husky.
Jeremy Hendrix
Jeremy Hendrix will be playing the role of Duff.
Jeremy has been involved with ACTS in several capacities over the last 5 years. In addition to serving on the board of directors, Jeremy sometimes can be found working behind the scenes, acting onstage, or just enjoying a show from the audience. His favorite stage role at ACTS was in The Importance of Being Earnest. He has been known to direct as well and headed up last spring’s Mrs. California. Jeremy wants to thank his fantastic fiancée, Chrystal, for her support of his theatrical habit!!
Catherine Horton
Catherine Horton will be playing the role of the doctor.
This is the first time Catherine is performing with ACTS and she is so excited to be a part of this show! Catherine has had previous roles with Jackson County Community Theatre as Susan/Lucy in Half and Half, and Mother in The Best Christmas Pageant Ever. She has spent countless hours behind the scenes as stage hand, stage manager, and assistant director for several shows. Catherine is married to her high school sweetheart, Tim. They have 2 children, Brady and Lucy.
Michelle Elkins
Michelle Elkins will be playing the role of Mary.
Michelle is returning to ACTS for the second time. Previously, Michelle played Audrey Hart in the show, "Belles".
Michelle has been active in community theater for four years. Before joining community theater, she was active in church choir/cantatas and show choir in high school.
Prior performances include baker/toy soldier in Babes in Toyland, Anne Deever in All My Sons, Kathy in 9 to 5 The Musical, Betty Jane in Fruitcakes, Deb in Elf: The Musical, and Audrey Hart in Belles.
Michelle works as a nurse full-time and is a full-time student pursuing a bachelor's degree in Healthcare Management through WGU. She enjoys spending time with her family, including her seven beautiful grandchildren, reading, crafting, singing and acting. She would like to thank the cast and crew of ACTS for this opportunity and her family and her dog, Piper, for allowing her the time to commit to the theater.
Amanda Bott
Amanda Bott will be playing the role of Devon.
Amanda is a 32 year old professional cat wrangler. Unfortunately, every cat she wrangles she has taken home. Amanda has acted in several plays at ACTS such as Kosher Lutherans, You Have The Right To Remain Dead, Belles, and Mrs. California. When not on stage she spends her time playing video games and taking her demonic-sounding husky on walks where she profusely tries to explain to fearful passers-by that he is, in fact, friendly as he screams at them.
Brinna R Sharp
Brinna R Sharp is playing the role of Teacher.
Brinna is an Ivy Tech web design major.
They have been involved in theater and the performing arts for over ten years and in that time have been cast in Godspell, and Little Women.
Along with ACTS they are acting at Fear Fair this fall.
Lucy Horton
This is Lucy Horton's acting debut with ACTS.
Lucy began acting with the Jackson County Young Artist Theatre in 2016. She has held many different roles in the past 5 years with her favorite being a cast member in the musical Godspell. Lucy is a sophomore at Seymour High School and is the daughter of Tim and Catherine Horton. When she's not on stage, she is busy with Bowling, Archery, Band, Choir, and FFA.
Betty Baute
My bio for New York -
Betty Baute has been involved with local theatre for more than 50 years. Her favorite roles were those of Patty in "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown" and Ma Kettle in "The Egg and I" in high school, and she has specialized in supporting character roles ever since. The role of Julia in "New York" is her first time on stage in about 10 years, but she has stayed busy as a director, producer and behind-the-scenes worker at ACTS. Betty is a founding member of ACTS and currently serves as president of the theatre's board of directors.
Alexis Kieninger
My name is Alexis Kieninger and I play the role of the pilot! This is my first role with ACTS! It’s been a great experience! I have been in a few school plays such as Antigone as Antigone and Somewhere Nowhere as Trina Tews! I’m so grateful to work with this cast and I hope you all can come out and enjoy the show!
Mark Scheele
Mark Scheele will be playing the role of Caregiver, his first role with ACTS.
Mark lives in Indianapolis with his 16 year old daughter, 2 cats, a dog, and a habit of staring off into space for long periods of time. He has wanted to return to theater for over 20 years and is extremely grateful to ACTS for giving him the opportunity to dive back in.
Mark caught the acting bug early in High School when he was cast in the role of Justice Wargrave in Agatha Christie's Ten Little Indians. Afterwards, he went on to play supporting roles in Carousel and Private Lives. He continued to be active in High School drama for the next 3 years working on crew, set construction, and as a props manager.
After High School, Mark briefly studied Theater and Journalism at Ball State University before joining the Navy. In 1992, he was named Head of Drama Ministries at his church where he taught acting, directed and developed weekly performances, and played roles in several one act plays written by local playwrights.
By day, Mark is a career Computer Programmer -- and has been since 1996. By night, he is currently pursuing a long held passion in animation and voice over acting with Elmonia studios (which he can never get fired from because he owns it). His first animated shorts are expected to debut in fall of 2022.
Mark enjoys gardening, woodworking, audio/video editing, cartooning, dancing, Euchre, avoiding conflict, game design, art, symphony, computer programming, crafts, writing short stories and poetry that he won't let anyone see, music, and karaoke (which is pretty much an obsession of his). He also insists he will build a boat someday.
Carolyn Jane Deweese
Carolyn Jane Deweese will be playing the role of the babysitter.
Carolyn Jane is a student in the Seymour 6th grade center. At 12 years old, she is already a stage veteran, having been cast in the JCCT productions "Wicked is as Wicked Does", "Charlotte's Web" & most recently in "The Princess Who Had No Name".
In her free time Carolyn Jane enjoys singing, painting and most other art projects. The role of the babysitter is her first main stage (non-childrens) play, her first with ACTS & the first time she is sharing the stage with her father.
